With two 1h weapons you get two sigils but, with a 2h weapon you only get one. Do the 2h weapons have something to offset this?

nope, and the stat boost on 2 1-handed weapons is often slightly above that of a single 2-handed weapon (not by much but still a discrepancy).

Though I do think many 2 handed weapons come with some of the stronger moves to make up for these slight things its still a bit of a bummer.

With 2 Lv80 Berserker Swords you get 1 more Power and Crit. Damage than a Berseker Greatsword, the same thing happens with 2 Daggers vs 1 Shortbow. It’s not a big diference.

yeah its the loss of a sigil that tends to make the bigger dent, its not huge granted but still, it is a discrepancy.
