I think the point is that a bare link like that seems to be there just to make viewer counts go up. We can’t tell from the OP if it’s actually going to be helpful information or even have anything to do with ways to make gold. If they’re trying to help other players as per the intent of this subforum, they should summarize the methods in text here and add the video link as a more detailed explanation.

Like Rankomonaut, I’m not clicking on it despite vague curiosity as to whether the seven methods include anything I’d enjoy doing and haven’t already thought of myself.

I also don’t click on links without a tl;dw. My theory is: if the vblogger can’t be bothered to type a short synopsis, they aren’t likely to have given enough though to how they speaking during the video. I value my time too much to take a chance on whether the ’caster values time.

Besides, there are plenty of short, type-written guides that cover all sorts of fun, efficient, or mindless gold making.

I don’t think these sorts of posts should be allowed because they aren’t about players helping players, they are about a player that is trying to help himself… otherwise you’d tell people in your opening comment how you make gold instead of trying to get us to hit your youtube channel. It is poor taste, really, and it is an abuse of this forum

I think you should watch the video, it actually tells you all the good ways to make gold, and even has a list of materials nodes linked in the description.

He also only has 230~ views, so he is not making mad cash with your precious click.

so, instead of writing a confusing wall of text how to make money, he made a video so you can just click once and relax while watching him explain that stuff, you people do realize it would take a lot of text and pictures to convey all the information in that 2 minute video?

Agree! and, btw, too much finger pointing/accusations/harsh judgements (’poor taste..abuse of this forum) with out even going to check it out 1st.
Knew most of them already, but one I had never done. Extremely helpful and cheap because I had a few stacks in my inventory and needed to spend about 15g to make over 60g in a few minutes at the forge. 15 well spent imho. Next time it may cost me 25-30g, but still more than worth it.

Easiest way to make gold —-- play the game, harvest everything, kill everything, either sell on the TP or salvage and then sell. That’s how to make gold.

Thanks for the elaborations. I did watch it. It runs into my usual problem with gold making — most every method involves selling off mats, and I’m a hoarder who saves mats against eventual need. But it was a good quick overview.

I just wish the OP had said “I’ve done a two minute video with seven methods for making gold summarized, and there are further links for more details on each, here it is at (link).” Too often these blank-slate video links are self aggrandizement or rickrolls and people tend to get overly wary as a result.

I say just watch the video. Up vote it if you like it and down vote it if you don’t. That way people will make solid helpful videos, or face the wrath of the critics. LOL

The issue I have is the time to record, edit, encode a video like this is considerably more than simply typing out a guide in the forum. I see this board about players being altruistic about their help, not trying to make money off of it. So he isn’t going to get a view from me even to down vote it on principle.

If you want to get some good rep while making videos and advertising yourself on these forums, add a summary and some more about the video than just a link. You want the community to know you are able to give quality information rather than just a link that some may not even find helpful.
