I was looking at the requirements for unlocking guild missions and its says we need to unlock certain things like building guild puzzles and such which require guild merits. …….you only get guild merits from completing guild missions so how in hell are we going to get them if we cant do any? anyone got an answer please? cos it doesn’t make much sense at the moment

You only waited fifteen minutes before deciding to be passive-aggressive and assume no one would help you?

You will need to use your guild’s influence to make sure you have appropriate ranks (Economy, Politics, etc.) in order to give the guild the ability to "build" access to guild missions. Then you’ll be able to go out and do them for the merits.

These are different than the projects that the merits themselves can be used for, though, and should only require time and influence points.

When waiting for a reply on a forum (any forum) it helps to consider the time of day. Most GW2 players are in Western Countries which means they’re likely to be at work or school when you posted this. Or on their way to work/school. If you’d posted it in about 6 hours time you’d have a good chance of getting a response in 15 minutes, but not now.

Anyway, you can unlock Guild Bounties without needing any merits, then use the merits earned from doing them to unlock other missions.

for those who dont want to read the link.
Basically you play round robin.

First you unlock guild bounties with 30K influence. Then you earn 30 merits (will take you 2 weeks)
From there you need rank 6 economy. This lets you unlock guild treks (influence and 30 merits)
After that you get r6 politics, 80 merits and another heaping helping of influence for guild rush.
Then it’s back to art of war, pick up art of war 6, and spend more merits for guild challenge
Finally you go to architecture 6, 250 merits and 50k influence for guild puzzles.

Bounties cost 0 merits to unlock, so you have to start there. You will have between 30-50 merits in 2 weeks for guild treks (which honestly is fine, as you basically need 2 weeks to research econ 5 and 6)

If you’ve got 50, you pay 30 to reach 20, then you can earn up to 35 a week, meaning it’ll take another 2 weeks to afford guild rush. I forget how many challenge is, but basically you’ll be unlocking a new guild mission every other week or so assuming you have full influence/are able to complete them for merits.

Thanks for that, appreciated.

FTR the “suppose I wont get an answer” comment was made cos for some reason it got moved out of the forum I originally posted in.

Secondly doesn’t look like my guild will be doing guild missions before Christmas lol, the cost is too high for small guilds but nevermind

If you’re in a small guild remember, and remind all your guild members, that logging in on a character gets you 10 influence a day.

If you’ve got a few people with alts that adds up quickly. And if you don’t use alts you can always create some random characters to fill the slots and get extra influence.
