Q:
A little help please, GW2 community
Race and profession is relative. I enjoy all races and found 3 professions to be amazing (mesmer, ranger and ele) 3 to be ok (guard, necro and thief) and 2 I have not played to any extent.
Look on the server list when it asks you to select and you can see which are high, medium and low pop.
Good luck finding something you yourself enjoy. You will get a lot of very biased answers about which is best though.
Thanks for the input. Bias is OK as long as its not just complete stupidity (i.e. Class X is teh roxxor and class y is teh sux).
I would like to hear people opinions that’s why I posted.
Thanks again.
Hmm there isn’t really much to say. If you play any given class enough to understand how the tools provided the class works then it will be mostly fine. Sure some will have rough edges but it’s not the end of the world. However a lot of this also depends on you. Judging from various posts, for some people the only ‘viable’ class/build is one that can faceroll everything. Obviously for those people anything affecting that combo is going to be game breaking.
Thanks for your input, yeah I am not looking for a faceroll class more like a good place to start. With out personally knowing all the abilities yet of the classes I was hoping to get some outside input on the overall performance of some classes.
I know what you are saying though I have been scanning the forums and it seems like there is a lot of crying going on about almost all the classes which doesn’t help the process, LOL.
Every class cannot be horrible. I have to say I was looking at thief, engineer, Warrior or possibly even one of the caster classes memer/necro/ele.
I decided against Guardian and Ranger at this point and actually on the fence about Necro I have never been a big fan on relying on pets.
Necros don’t necessarily rely on their minions. I leveled my necro using a well build with staff and axe/dagger and enjoyed it.
Main? What “main”? I play all of them sooner or later.

I level mine using ….
scepter/dagger + staff with wells spec with mostly power and precision with a bit of condition damage later on.
Not the most optimal setup but it still works fine. That being said necro was not my first character so skills/techniques were transferred over from other classes.
