Guild Wars 2

I’ve seen a player today with a name referring to the Twin Towers (direct reference, not hinting). His guild name was a very direct reference to 9/11.

What is your opinion: is this name plain offensive or just incredibly tasteless?

I was this close to report the player right there and then, but I saw that he’s having a birthday buff on his character, clearly indicating that he had gotten away with this name for a year. Honestly, I’m on the fence. While I find this name unbelievably primitive, especially in a fantasy game, it is not my wish to punish people for their unrefined taste, simply because they won’t learn. So I can look the other way, question is, should we?

Offensive AND tasteless. I vote for both. I’d have reported it and let Anet decide.

inappropiate guildnames can’t effectivly be reported ingame. Best is to make a screenshot and file a support ticket. Atleast thats what the support liason told me some weeks ago. It is up to support to decide wether or not a name is inappropiate and not us

Also pls edit this thread. Naming the person and the guild is considered harashment and against the forum rules.

I don’t think it’s improper to include the guild name and tag. It’s improper to list the player’s character name, which you did not do in the first place.

I thought the same, that’s why I omitted the character’s name at the first place. But who am I to guess forum rules?
