Guild Wars 2

I’ve seen characters parked in locations where dynamic events spawn in a rapid constrained patterns (not very dynamic, eh). The characters have a skill on autofire, and are just parked to keep doing the same event over and over.

It’s possible to do it with just a normal keyboard/mouse and the standard GW2 ui.

Is it against the rules?

I know it’s cheesy — what I want to know is if it’s bannable/reportable.

(pardon if the Q’s been asked before. I did a forum search and came up empty)

I would report it as an exploit.

Or if you can get a bunch of people involved, lead the mobs over and see if you can’t get them to attack the idler. He comes back and finds he’s been dead for 2 hours, he might not do it again.

If the character is doing any action that doesn’t involve direct player input, it is considered “botting”. Basically if no-one is behind the screen, but the character is doing some action, then it is against the rules and therefore bannable. Don’t do it if you don’t want to be reported.

They are abusing the system by doing this, so it’s worth reporting them.

DEATH TO THE ROBOTS!!!

When I join an event and people are doing this, I report them. Not only do I report them, I encourage others to report them, then I get mobs to kill them. Seriously people, why play a game if you aren’t going to PLAY the game… The only reason I can see for people to do this is to show off to others that they have a high level character (who cares) or to steal accounts and bot farm/sell them. I hate bots…

I’d say its not right, if I see things like this I will report -.-
