I have made it my goal to get this epic sword. After doing some raw math I calculated that it would take over 1200G to craft…I have 40G…

What would be the best way as to acquire this weapon(minus TP playing and gem buying)? Should I specifically farm charged lodestones and save them? Should I just farm and sell the loot, and then buy lodestones?

Also, what have you found to be the most profitable in terms of actually playing the game? Fractal of the mists? Farming cursed shore?

Thanks for any input. I’m going to get this sword :P

CoE explorables I’d say.

Hmmm. I’ve only ever done one CoE explorable. I’d just like to ask, what is the reasoning behind this? Is it a good way to farm loot, or is it because it has a chance at charged lodestones? Honestly, I have no clue. Thanks for the response!

honestly I would go for mats over gold farming. With inflation being the way it is I wouldn’t count on gold value, unless you can farm it up in a month. I remember in December a full set of crafted exotics would run for 12g, and now it’s about 30g.

On the other hand lodestone farming, especially charged lodestones is pretty tiresome. I would run a ton of CoE because they drop charged lodestones, and then use the gold to buy more lodestones.

Also make sure you have enough orichalcum. it is something ridiculous i think like 4500 pieces of orichalcum ore you need, assuming you are even a weapon smith to craft the blades. Since the rich orichalcum vein was gotten rid of it is going to be a chore and a half to get the amount of ore. I suppose you could farm and transmute 250 mithril ores to get them, but still that is a metric kittenton of orichalcum.

Anyways best of luck, but I wouldn’t put too much stock in gold nowadays. Things that used to be cheap are now really expensive, and unless Anet buffs the droprate of charged lodestones they are more than likely just going to go up and up. just my two cents though.

It is fast and yields charged lodestones/cores.
But you should try to get a regular group, regardless of what you are doing. It will help you much more than anything else.

The overall amount of ori I will need is about 1500. I had to use the same amount of ancient wood logs to make llya…it’s a real pain in the kitten :c

yeah you are right. For some reason I multiplied the 6 ori ores, and the ingots to get 18 and then multiplied that by 250 :/ weird. still that is a lot of ore you need. I hate that they took away the rich vein it was pretty amazing.

also shouldn’t it cost more around 800g.

100 mystic coins = 9g
charged lodestone = 250 * 3g(each)=750
1500 oricalchum = .03 * 1500 = 45g

This is give or take a couple gold, but as long as you farm lodestones I’m sure you have a decent amount of mystic coins and orichalcum ore already stocked up.

Thank you for that! I guess I messed up my math somewhere…

just as an fyi. the first 50-100 may be ~3 gold but such is their rarity that the price will hit 3.5 – 4 and beyond before you are able to purchase all 250 from the trading post. not a cheap blade to get your hands on
