I use an e-mail forwarding service (www.sneakemail.com) to give every web forum I sign up for a unique e-mail address. I was cleaning out my spam folder, and I noticed a lot of phishing e-mails for Diablo 3 accounts (none specifically for GW2 yet) coming to e-mails I gave to
- Curse
- Turbine
- Rappelz (yes, I try lots and lots of games)
I also deactivated my MMORPG.com e-mail address a while ago because the spammers got it – I don’t know if there are any phishing e-mails being sent to it, but I only deactivate them when it gets really bad. Usually I just grey list them.
This is a good indicator that their user lists have been compromised, so if you’re using the same e-mail address for those sites that you used for your GW2 account, I would strongly recommend that you make sure your password is something unique.
