Achievements; Am I missing something?
There are a couple of titles that seem pretty neat, such as the dungeon master one.
People can see your title when they click you. Which means more often than not it’s your enemies rather than your allies who will notice.
But yes, I think the titles could really use a revamp.
I know they can see titles, but the achievement points, or whatever I don’t think they can see.
The dungeon title is essentially the only one I can think that is comparable to GW1-style titles. I’m sad that they made gear the only thing to go after, it just means grinding various things (karma/dungeons). Titles were what kept me hooked to the first game up till the release of the second.
There was potential for so many of the achievements to grant titles. I don’t know why they decided to limit titles so much when it’s just a little bit of text.
Well, since I seem to have not missed anything, I posted something in the suggestions forum… not like anyone actually reads it. You can go give my post a +1 if you are so inclined — together we can get more titles! (maybe
).
you see acheivement points if they r on yur friend list
Tis only what you can do for all

Also when in a party with people and you hover over their party portrait it shows their ArenaNet points.
But that isn’t the same as a title for me, the points matter little IMO.
You can also turn on achievement points in the guild pane which allows you to see the points of guild-mates, it seems to be off by default.
Yea, I know you can see it while they’re in your party/on your friends list, but I agree with Bluestone. Oh I have 1700, he has 800. Booyeah…
. Also, geez, I am not trying to impress my friends!!
In other words, they aren’t public like titles. More so than “public” though, the GW1 titles had really funny names, and were achieved by doing a variety of interesting things. When you saw someone with a neat title on, you thought — hey, which title is that? Or, at the very least, it tells you something about what they enjoyed in the game – minigames, pve, pvp, etc. Some were truly feats, like I mentioned (the drunkard title in GW1 was very hard to get prior to the change in the last 6 months or so).
Also for completionists its a very satisfying feature… the achievements physically can’t be ‘completed’ because 1) Some are repeatable 2) Agent of entropy can be gotten infinite times 3) even with 5 character slots you cannot do all the story paths.
When I posted in the suggestions forum, someone said there were hidden achievements. Can anyone confirm that, or was he just making stuff up?

I have found at least 1 hidden achievement so far.
I’ve obtained “Speedy reader” which had an explorer icon for it. But obviously isnt on the list.
Zentyatoo, thanks so much for the info. What is an “explorer” icon though? And was it a title or just an achievement?
Thanks!
The vast majority of the GW1 titles did not exist at launch. Over time, they were added. I expect we’ll see the same here.

Each achievement has a little icon (what’s shown in the category list) next to it when you earn it.
Speedy Reader has the icon for the Explorer category of achievements (and grants 10 points). It just does not appear on the Explorer list (or anywhere else). It’s not a title, just an achievement.
