Acronym translations please
CoF – Citadel of Flame
Fotm – Fractals of the Mists.
Exp sometimes means Experience points and sometimes it means Explorable mode for a dungeon.
For example; “200 exp” would mean “200 experience points”. While “HotW exp” would mean “Honor of the Waves explorable”.

First off all, many acronym’s are translated in context.
so exp can mean experience (as in points needed to level up) or it can mean exploration.
I might start compiling such a list, but not promising a thing. Its a lot of work (most keeps in wvw have acronyms, as well as dungeons, maps, dynamic events and game terms.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
Some of these acronyms have already been setup in the wiki to redirect you to the relevant page. If you search “cof”, it’ll send you to the Citadel of Flame (dungeon) wiki page. Try that first if you’re a little shy about asking in-game.
Remember you can use the “/wiki” (i.e. /wiki cof) command in-game to do a search on the wiki that will open in your default browser

It definitely depends on context. One of the ones that confused me at first was MF for magic find/mystic forge.
Thanks guys that advice is really helpful – though I did know the wiki command I never thought to use it for this particular problem. I did ask in game via map/local chat population but never did get a ‘sensible’ explanation.
@ mercury ranique, didnt want to put anyone to a lot of work, just a simple list of the most commonly used acronyms would suffice, I thought the harder stuff would come with experience.
Come from a City of Heroes background which I played from beta and picked up all the acronyms from the get-go, I really thought I would have little trouble picking up Guildwars stuff, but have found it a tad more complicated than CoH in general, though I do enjoy the game a lot it’s not quite as easy as CoH was to learn.
Thanks for going to the trouble of replying guys – mush preshiated.
There was a thread, started before Christmas I think, which had a long list of acronyms and abbreviations used in game along with their definitions. I have searched the whole forum using every keyword I can think of and can’t find it now – perhaps someone else will have more luck but if it still exists it would save you a lot of work Mercury if you decided to go ahead with the project.

Here’s the thread Lexy is thinking about. Lots of helpful info. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/GW2-Abbreviations-and-Terms/first#post847132
I’m a former COH player myself and play with good group of COH friends. If you ever need help with anything Supasilvafoxy, do feel free to give us a holler!
