If you prefer another “skin” over the legendary weapon skin – can you still add it?

I assume you retain all the legendary stats like adding skins onto other items – but the big question is will you loose your “foot-print” effects that legendary weapons give you?

There was a thread on reddit sometime ago where a legendary (incinerator) was transmuted with a wooden dagger skin, it retained the purple name and the ability to switch stats, but lost the footprint effects, so I’m guessing, yes, you would loose the footprints and any other legendary effects.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

when transmutating you can combine three elements off 2 different weapons

1: the skin, This includes everything that has to with how it looks/glows/act in skills/etc
2: the stats, this include anything to do with what stats it has, what colour it has, what you can do with it.
3: the upgrade component.

So when you transmutate the skin of weapon x over a legendary, you loose all effects how it looks, but it still has the stats, the colour and possibillity to change stats.
