Adding a picture to a comment?
I’m using an iPad and this is what I see when I do it. I’m assuming it’s the same for all.
Below the box you type in, in red, is More posting & formatting options. Clicking on that gives you an Attachments button with an option that says Chose File and then Take photo or video/Choose Existing. Selecting ‘Choose Existing’ gives the ability to select from all photos saved on your device.
After you select one you preview and then Post Reply.

Amazing, thanks. And how do I add more than 1 picture? Seeing as that feature only allows 1 pic to be posted.
If someone would post instructions on how to add a gif, that would be helpful.

Select another picture and preview again before hitting post reply.
Oooh, i see. Thanks alot! :]

Hiyas, AP.
The forums didn’t always have a problem with adding a gif to a post. However, it recently started giving an error page after sitting there waiting for it to upload for a long time.
Add a gif the same as any other image, but if/when you get the error page just let it stay up. It seems like it stopped attempting to upload it, but it is still uploading it to the post despite giving the error page. Continue waiting while it continues to upload the gif.
Ideally, have a duplicate tab/page of the full thread you were making your comment in so you can refresh that one to tell when your post actually gets made so you can then close the error page.
Also, I’ve seen it happen to where I can only attach a gif in the above fashion after making the post and then editing it to add the gif.
If you attach a gif and get the error page, then hit ‘back’ and try to attach it again you will end up with two of the same gif attached when it eventually finishes attaching and updating your post. Or, if it was a fresh comment and not an edit, you may end up with duplicate posts, each with the gif attached to them when it finishes uploading both queued posts with their uploads.

Unfortunately your answer, while helpful, doesn’t go back far enough.
Maybe because I’m using an iPad, but when I click on a gif I get a static picture. For example, the beating a dead horse gif. The other instruction I read was to get the http string and add [img][/ing] to get this. [img]http string[/img] which was supposed to result in a moving gif. But the time I tried it it didn’t even result in an image.
So is there some sort of site that you put a gif on to transfer to the forum?
No idea, when I hover over your attachment it clearly says jpg.
Let’s see if it works for me …
Edit: I should add that I did not do this from an iPad.
Attachments:
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
Hmm. The image you attached is a jpg image. I don’t know how images work on iPads, or file storage for that matter. I would expect you would be able to save the gif to your iPad and then attach it to a post.
Another way is to put exclamation marks before and after the link to the image hosted on the web. However, most forum areas do not allow image embedding in comments…and there is really no way to know which forum area does not permit it until you try it. You would add them by putting exclamation marks around the image link in your comment. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/faq
!http://i2.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/square/000/013/003/dead-horse.gif!
It seems this forum area does not permit it.
Also trying it with the BBCode tags:

Nope. Seems this area doesn’t permit that method either.
This gif below attached properly without an error page probably because it is such a small file size and the site does not give the error page unless it takes a long time uploading to where it thinks it timed out or something.

However, checking the "Disable Textile" option on a post that has a linked image in BBCode does allow it to display.
Textile seems to conflict with gif images embedded with BBCode.
So try using the [img]link-to-image[/img] and disabling Textile on your post in the meantime to embed a gif.

Attempting by checking disable textile

Hmmm. It may be a limitation of the iPad itself and a computer may be required.

Also, if you edit your post then you must re-check the “Disable Textile” option to keep it disabled on the post, otherwise it gets re-enabled after editing.
