Does anyone have any? I stopped playing (because of work stress and personal reasons) around the time the wardrobe came out and the Zephyrites crashed in Drytop. A friend recently decided to start playing, but I find I’m having a hard time getting back in the swing of things. A lot of the interface has had tweaks, both major and minor. The dailies are different. It feels like the camera has changed and it seems I’ve lost the muscle memory of the action-y play-style of the game. I scrolled through my inventories and bank and that was overwhelming in and of itself.
My main is an 80 necromancer and I also have an 80 ranger. I tried my 63 Mesmer earlier, thinking taking it down a notch might help. Oh boy, I have never been so wrong. XD
Anyway, my point in this rambling post is to ask if anyone has any advice for getting back into things? Much appreciation for anyone that takes the time to read this.
This is probably going to be the opposite of helpful, but I just got back into the game, myself. Don’t be too tough on yourself, foremost. Each MMO has it’s own “thing” you have to get into the groove of and it takes time. What I did was start a completely new character. I used to play guardian and now I’m going warrior. Not a big leap, I know, but I’m enjoying rediscovering the early game.
I agree. Start a new character. You should be able to get to cap fairly quickly what with the daily rewards giving you free levels once a week even if you take your time. Get to know the lower levels again and by the time you get to 80 it should all have come back to you.

I just traveled around and got my hands on everything I ran into when I came back to the game. I’d also follow waypoint links when people would post them since they’re likely a boss or some event so, why not? While you’re bumping into everything for awhile, harvest and gather what you can and hold on to stuff until you have a handle on the game again because you might end up needing them, you can sell it all once you have a focus. I still agonize over the stuff I didn’t think was important and sold but now I’m buying most of that stuff for my own needs.
