Real life problems and responsibilities took me out of the game for quite some time. Before that I did every story achievement and tried to keep up gearing to the highest level.

I’ve been back a month and am completely overwhelmed because everything is locked behind prerequisites. I’ve been working on mastery unlocks and experience grinding but then there are a million story achievements, hero points to get for all characters, raiding, multiple dailies of every map and category and collections galore.

I don’t know if it’s better to just ignore all the dailies/collections/story achievements and wait for new expansion or try to catch up with everything?

Catching up seems impossible at this point.

What are the things I should be focusing on so that I’ll, at least, be ready for new expansion? Thanks!

Hi,

You seem to like to do almost every aspect of the PvE world, but this is what I would suggest, just to get you started off at a better pace. First, in the HoT maps, join the HP trains that will be listed in the LFG pane. Try to get as many as possible. I’m sure HP is going to be needed to unlock new class spec that will be introduced in the new expansion. A lot of the great HP trains will even help you get the Mastery Insight Points in those maps. So that, too, will give you a boost and help you rank up masteries.

What I did, to train certain masteries is do the Auric Basin Meta Events. Make sure you have food and xp boosts and then just go on to do a lot of the pre-octovine events, then do octovine, that will help you level up the training for the masteries you really want. This event is always going on, so don’t be afraid to just make a day of doing this. Not only will you also get the masteries trained and leveled, but if you’re a crafter/farmer, there is a ton of loot in the chests throughout the map as well as after the meta event in the underground passages (so farming materials and recipe’s should go quickly too).

This is just a jumping off point to get you started on your way to the other things you like to do. You can skip dailies if you like, but if you want the points for them and and the shards…that’s up to you. but what I said here should get you in a decent position to go after collections and catch up with everything else too.
