Aesthetics & The fine touches
I absolutely agree with 1) … I’m now lvl 45 and I still have the exact same armor as my starting armor. I know that skins become important once you turn 80, and I don’t expect to see super nice armor below that, but some kind of progress would be nice. I at least found a good sword skin with around lvl 30 that I am carrying over via Transmutation stones ever since because nothing else turned up.
Transmutation stones are a semi-acceptable solution, but honestly not sufficient for legitmate aesthetic progress that a game this epic should allow for.
Well if you do like the look of a certain armor then use a transmutation stone and transmute the look to an armor with better stats.
I totally have to disagree with #1. I feel like dyes and Cultural Armor give me a lot of customization and ways to make myself feel epic and unique. Coming from games like City of Heroes and GW1, I guess I’m used to not really having that many visual gear upgrades, but rather having ways to customize myself. Transmutation stones are a great addition for this, and also the addition of Cultural Armor in this game feels pretty epic. I got my Tier 1 as soon as I hit 35 and I feel like I’m looking pretty bada**.
I agree with #2. I think having your name on things you’ve made is pretty fun, and that’s a feature from Star Wars Galaxies and WoW that I really liked.
I have no opinion on #3, I’ve played games with and without this feature, and I found that I’m not much of a dueler. I’m sure it would add something for people that like to pvp a lot.
And I don’t see why #4 is at all necessary. Just ask the person what they’re wearing.
I’ve seen some people in some truly amazing and unique looking armors and weapons that are top-notch thanks to transmutation stones. With them, you can combine the stats of one items with the looks of another.
I would like to see #2 as well.
To #3, I believe ArenaNet has said they will add in a dueling feature if enough community interest is shown in it. Until then, they are prioritizing other things.
I disagree with #4. I believe you should have to actually communicate with a person if you want to find out what they’re wearing. But that’s just a personal opinion.
