Guild Wars 2

I have collected a number of aether key pieces over the last few weeks and have several complete keys but I have no idea what to do with them.

The wiki says they were for a 2012 event but why would they still be dropped if you couldn’t use them. Does anyone know or should I discard them?

They are not for an event. They are used to open 5 extra chests at the end of the Twilight Arbor aetherblade path.

How do you get to the Twilight Arbor path (is it a dungeon?).

It’s one of the TA paths. You go to the nw corner of Caledon to enter it (or be anywhere in Caledon when a party member enters). It’s level 80 and fairly difficult, with its own set of achieves which you can see in the Dungeons section of the achieves tab.

After you complete the dungeon there are a series of bonus events you can do if you want. One is to get to all 5 Aether Chests (I think you have 15 minutes to do the bonuses, so you need tight logistics to do all of them). The chests themselves don’t hold much of interest, but it’s a fun race.

There is a time limit to finishing the events but only one person needs to one the 5 chests for that part to count and once the events are completed the 4 can open the chest without worrying about the time limit. Finishing the events also gets the whole party 2 extra champion loot bags.
