Guild Wars 2

I just purchased the game last night and struggling to choose the right server.

I have picked Blackgate, but seem to have the option to still change servers (I was under the impression this would cost money, but seems to be free right now).

What I am looking for:
1) Competitive at WvW without pure zergs (I used to love 8-man roams in DAOC rvr). Also, what are typical queue times for WvW…I do not want to wait hours to play (I usually play between 9pm-2am EST)?

2) A decent PvE presence. I enjoy some dungeon crawling and basic RP.

Blackgate, from what I have read, seems to have a mixture and a friendly community. Just want others advice.

Cannot say for all but out of 2 servers the decent PvE is now in lv 80 zones…

The RP servers are Tarnished Coast (NA) and Piken Square (EU). PIken Square was Medium pop last I looked, and TC was Full but will probably fluctuate a bit and you may be able to grab an open spot.

For easy access WvW + PvE, I know Henge of Denravi was organizing their WvW more and doing better when I left, plus I could usually find someone around during your time frame. It’s a lower pop server so it’s WvW presence wasn’t always great but when we pulled together we did pretty well. Never saw any RP though.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t really RP in the traditional sense, just enjoy talking with people who like the lore and try to have names that aren’t childish haha.

WvWvW doesn’t have a queue time AFAIK, you just go and start doing your thing. Once there you could probably find a roaming group recapturing key points.
