Well, i know for a fact that im not the only one with this problem.

1. Like/hate something about almost every class.

2.Can’t commit to one character to get that “main”.

3. Every time i do think i find a main i die, or get owned in sPvP, or something stupid to make me hate the class. (temporarily)

4. Find my self sitting at the character selection screen not knowing what to play.

5. Love a learning curve but want to be the best at everything. (But need a commitment on a character to get anywhere near that)

Several other points i could make but eh,

I do have my race selected, and a couple professions im not deeply interested in,
Thief
Ranger

So, i guess my actually question is, has anyone else with similar problems found a way to stop? Or am i just going to have to choose one whether i end up disliking it or not? (to actually get anywhere?) i have 1400 hours played and my only real personal achievement is Dungeon Master/ Master crafter/FotM completeion, no map completion, no living story completion, barely any PvP/WvW Rank etc..

And doubt it helps but i could put dislikes/likes about the remaining classes, but i know it all boils down to personal opinion.

Well I’m an altaholic as well but I just play what I want today play what is most appealing to me that day so as for a solution you can choose a character whenever you play and make that character your main for the day or until you get bored ( no strings attached )and pass on another one comeback to older ones whenever you feeling like it for the learning curve you can choose’a style of play that can be used for all of your characters (for me that is hybrid damage style might stacking celestial build some people say its not the best for PVE or you can’t use it for every proffesion but I believe I’m actually pretty good at it and that makes me happy ) so what I suggest for finding the right style for you there are build editor like sites you can play around there for sometime and you can look into something already build and try that style that’s all I can suggest I hope I can help you a little

If you’re an altaholic then my recommendation is to ditch any plans for having a main. Its only going to do your head in, and looks like that’s already started. I’m an appalling altaholic (55 characters) and as much as I love my first few 80s I’d never consider any of them a main. So, maybe try getting that out of your head and see where you go.

I love your “main for the day” idea, definitely a great approach to this problem!

I’d refer all of those “Help me pick my (Main/Profession/etc)” posts that come up every other day to these 2 reply’s, definitely great advice and i think it’d help alot of people in the constant battle for character commitment!
