Guild Wars 2

I was running around fireheart rise and decided to shoot a random rat when all of a sudden a pirate/thief looking NPC pops out of the ground and attacks me. He summoned a dozen rats that attacked me and when I defeated him, he just ran away.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I think its one of the rare exoploraytion acheivements, did you chase him when he ran? i think if you do he turns u into something?

or was there an event marker on the minimap around the fight you were in or crossed swords?

The skrit burglars turn you into the (rabbit with antler thing) if you spawn him from a chest. That’s an event and the burglar drop small loot bags along the way as well as a bigger bag of loot at the end if you manage to kill it.

The OP speaks of a different occurrence I believe (correct me if I’m wrong). I’m curious to find them rats now.

nice find shame theres not much info on him... It does prove its not one of those acheiv,emnts tho or it would be listed.

I’m not sure if this guy had anything to do with the rat I killed, he just happened to pop up after.

i bet there is a kill quest for him from an npc in the zone somwehere

I clicked on the NPC’s organization and looks like there’s more of them.

I’ve fought the mesmer before, didn’t realise it was part of something bigger. Wasn’t as exciting as a big pile of rats sounds though!
