Guild Wars 2

Hey guys, quick question for some of you who may know more than me. I was really hoping character slots would go on sale during the big anniversary event and, while that didn’t happen, it doesn’t change my need for slots. Thing is I need 8 more and that’s a lot of gems lol, so I was wondering before I go out and spend another $100 on this game (don’t judge X3) is there any chance you guys think they’ll go on sale before HOT or do I need to just suck it up and pull out my wallet lol?

My assumption would be that they want a character slot for each specialization that way they don’t have to swap builds.

As far as Op’s question… Really no idea, but If you need that many grabbing a few f2p accounts might help with the cost. Just spit balling here.

From a financial stand point, why would ANet discount the price of character slots?

• They already gave away one slot to veterans and sold one slot as part of the uber-bundle.
• People are already willing to pay to get new slots to support the new prof and for some, to have toons dedicated to the elite profs.
• In the past, slots seemed to go on sale when the gold:gem exchange rate was slacking off. That doesn’t seem likely to be an issue every again.

Of course, ANet might still discount new character slots; I’m only pointing out that it likely would lose them money to do so.

I did preorder and get the two, currently have 12 lol but will have 20 by the time I’m done. The above poster is partially correct, I do want one for much of the specializations, but I’m also a big fan of Fashion Wars 2 and had a few more looks I wanted to create, so I needed some more people to deck out lol. ^^"

An oh well, may as well just suck it up lol. Least if I get em now I should have some of em ready by HOT release.

Wait what ? How did you get 2 free slot? I prepurchase HOT but only got 1 free slot.

You get one if you had GW2 before the pre-order started and one if you bought the deluxe.

If you had the game and bought the standard you have one.
If you didn’t had the game and bought the deluxe you have one.
If you didn’t had the game and bought the standard you have none.
