Is there any limit on number of times we can transmute the same armor piece? Or can the same armor piece be transmuted infinitely? I need to know this to workaround the current inability to buy higher level versions of our special starter armor piece…

As far as I know you can transmute armour as many times as you like, providing you have the transmutation stones for it. Someone else might know otherwise.

Yes you’re able to transmute as many times as you need – you just need the appropriate transmutation stones (basic for levels 1-79 / fine for level 80 items)
