Any newbie guides/links? any good thief guides? not sure how stealth works? also is it possible to change were your weapon skills appear on your hotbar? change the order of them 1-5???

Don’t know of any guides but to answer your question about switching abilites1-5 you cannot, those are based of the weapons in your hands. Stealth is a temporary ability in this game where you disappear for 3-10 seconds and reappear to continue the fight. While stealthed your slot 1 ability changes to an “ambush” ability which usually does a fair amount of damage but takes you out of stealth I.E “backstab”.
Stealth i find more of a way to hide for a bit while i wait for Cool Downs or my initiative to recharge and re position, or an escape mechanic.
Thief is by far my favorite class though

I have a thief, level 10, which I wouldn’t mind using to help you out if you’re on Isle of Janthir we could team up.

The only way you can change skills on your hotbar is to select a weapon. Every weapon has a specific set of skills. You cannot change what skill # goes to what skill.

Thiefs have the interesting difference that one skill usually shows up only if that specific weapon is in your main hand and you have nothing in your off hand.

This profession is still much like the glass cannon from the Assassin days of GW1, but the stealth abilities do help in confusing human players and breaking off aggro from computer mobs.
