Please tell me what you know…

Seriously i have spent 20+ hours now in the silver-wastes trying to get a single coat box. killed the vinewrath around 20 times, and outside of the achievement got nothing. Opened over 300 bandit chests, only other pieces IF i was lucky. Is there ANY other way to get the coat boxes? Its driving me INSANE. Am i doing something wrong? IS there a requirement i’m missing? Or is does RNG just hate me?

It also states you can only get it from the vinewrath chest on the wiki, despite other players saying that’s not true. Furthermore this makes me wonder why you can’t buy it from the vendor like everything else, after you kill it the first time.

I’ve never gotten it from any other way, however, you can get armor boxes from finishing events in the SW. I have gotten at least a shoulder box like that.

The VW is still your best bet however. You are pretty unlucky actually, you should have had one by now. But don’t give up, at least you’re getting some nice spoils in the meantime!

Also, try to join SW events that are already on their way, to save some time getting to the VW.

RNG is RNG I was in your place week ago… after I got 3rd box it started to drop more often and I ahve seen like 5 of them till now

My friend got 4 in his first 4 s/w runs (not counting the automatic one). Then, he didn’t get it for two in a row and thought they had nerfed the rate; he just didn’t realize just how lucky he had been.

I’m not sure what the exact rate is (I haven’t seen any specific data about it). It seems mostly people need 20-25 to get the initial 3 for the collections, while a few need only 5-10 runs, and a fewer still need 30-40 runs.

I also have run SW more times than I care to admit. I have had multiple carapace boxes, of all the armor pieces. So my guess is RNG is RNG.

At this point they are just ectos and silk in a box.

Pretty much. I’ve been tossing them in the forge. I’ve gotten 1 precursor from SW rares so far, as well as some other pretty cool exotics.

Must be bad luck. I think I have 20+ in my bank from VW chest and I don’t even play that much.

RNGesus loves everyone equally….. within standard divination, and only at the edge of bell curve.

You get crests from the events. You can spend them to get the coat box. The other carapace items too, except for the pants (which require an annoying part of the PS before you can buy them).

I’m pretty sure you can’t buy the chest, as there is no way to “unlock” it at the vendor. It only drops from VW.
