What’s a 1080? Sounds like some government form.

The new Nvidia GPU that dropped today

I’d never buy a full price card on its first day.
Wait til there’s a sweet price drop and / or the super duper manufacturer version.

Most likely however is that the 1080 drops, the card below it that is maybe 1-2% less also has a price drop. And then there’s the Nvidia / AMD battle so all their equivalent but lower cards drop to get rid of stock. And that’s when you get a new card at a great price.

And then you look at what the point is of buying the 1080 for GW2 and as it’s pretty much none..

Yeah you’d be pretty mad to buy a 1080 on release day for GW2.

If you are planing on getting a GTX1080 don’t get the Founders one. Go with one that has an aftermarket cooler on it like the one from EVGA. The reason is that the founder card thermal throttles and clock speed drops which can affect frame rate. Watch the Jayztwocents video on it. With the 1080 you might get a little better frame rate than your card while playing GW2.

You can get the best gpu on the market,this game is all about cpu..Not saying there wont be an increase when going from low or mid to high end.But i switched some months back from a 560gtx to a 970 and the perf increase is barely noticable in this game.

I’d never ever get a reference card.
I also have a 980ti Strix, and would rather buy another then get a 1080, even an aftermarket one, at this point.
