Guild Wars 2

I’m using 2 GTX 690’s in Quad SLI (dual processor cards). FPS dips drastically at times with GPU’s at 100% load and temps at throttling point. I should mention I’m also using 3 monitors at 5760 × 1080.

Is anyone playing GW2 with a GTX 1080? If so, what kind of performance are you getting?

I got a 1060 if it even slightly compares. Graphically its way more power than I need for gw2. My mainboard and processor are a bit old so I do bottleneck in the auric catacombs and wvw blobs, and world events a bit. But I can assure you, the graphical pressure of gw2 isnt much as high as its cpu costs.

Thanks. My CPU usage never goes above 30%. RAM usage is about 20%. Speedtest says my Internet connection is about 120 Mbps. It’s my GPU’s that are bottlenecking me.

why? lol do you have 3 monitors connected or are you actually playing gw2 with all 3 monitors?

what game mode are you having this fps dips? (pvp, wvw or pve, name map/event)

i was actually playing gw2 on a sli gtx 680 configuration @ 3440×1440 before the gtx 1080 came out and i didnt have any problems.
most common problems with fps are zergs in wvw, over populated cities or some events in HoT due to high population.

Im running a 1080 and with a 4790k @ 4.6ghz, absolute max settings at 1440P and i sit between 100 and 200 FPS, depends whats happening on the screen.

I have a gtx 1080 and i7-6700k and no matter what put my graphics settings at, my fps is locked at 60 for some reason, even though i have v-sync off and frame rate limiter set to unlimited.

I’d suggest checking the “NVIDIA Control Panel” and making sure that you don’t have something set in there to override the vsync, etc, settings requested by the games.
