Q:
Are guardians better at getting and holding aggro than warriors?
Since when gw2 has “aggro” ?
Since the game first came out. You’re confusing the game not having aggro with not HOLDING aggro.
Anyway, I’m curious about this as well.
If you check the topic , you can easily get why i sentenced it like that.Also what i meant there , that the game has no “aggro” mechanics for building/getting aggro.Creating a simple sentence doesnt fill it up with simple meanings.When i do dungeons with my warrior there is no guarantee that i get the bosses’ attention.They sometimes hit to me , sometimes to a ranged class sometimes to a thief.
{better at ’’getting’’ and holding aggro}
Binding Blades…
nuff said
anytime you poke the boss he might get peeved at you…
but the same goes for all classes not just one…
there is no “tanking” mechanics in the game, there are “support” mechanics
I noticed that the main thing that determines aggro seems to be how much DPS you do. I play a very high DD Glass Cannon Ranger and Elementalist and no one else usually seems to be able to keep the mob from running towards me.
Some classes can do much more damage per hit but because my hits are so fast and consistent on my Ranger for example, I appear to be doing much more consistent damage which makes the mob hate me. Of course this depends on who I’m around, there are probably players with builds of other classes and the skill to out damage me.

To be honest, I didn’t easily get that at all. That was even less than a simple sentence. I don’t even think it was a complete one.
If you attack a mob, you get aggro. Getting and holding aggro are very different things. This game doesn’t have the same type of system holding aggro, but getting aggro by attacking a mob that’s just sitting there is always the same.
I don’t think it has aggro mechanics the same way other MMOs but it seems to me that the character that is damaging the mob the most at the time gets its attention.
Makes sense, if I were the mob, who would I try to get rid of first? The one who is most likely to kill me.

If I were a mob I’d pick off all the easy targets first. Then focus the high dmg dealer who has no support left.
