Are the Orders Honor Armor/Weapons any good?
I’d recommend getting a full rare set from the tp with desired stats. Very cheap and definetly enough to do dungeon runs and farm tokens.
The order weapons and armor are just for looks. They are rare quality and cost too much to be used as a stepping stone to exotics. The weapons especially. 5g+ for a rare 2-hand weapon when a crafted exotic is 3g-4g.
That being said, most of my characters are using order equipment (mostly Priory weapons) that have been transmuted on top of exotic equipment.

They are mostly used for appearance, not their stats. At lvl 80 you really want to move on up from Rare quality(yellow) to Exotic quality(orange) in gear.
A good place to start when you’ve just hit lvl 80 for the first time is to farm Ascalonian Catacombs for a set of armour and a weapon or two.

The orders weapons and armor are simply for the skins as you will want exotics eventually and the exotics with the stats to optimize your build. So, the question is do you like the skins more than than the level 80 exotics available. Yes, the vigil heavy armor looks good in my opinion. But, as I say, it’s really just the skins with the orders gear. You certainly wouldn’t spend the gold for the stats.
Order armor/weapons are mainly desirable for the looks, and really aren’t worth getting for the stats alone. However, they’re perfectly fine stat-wise if you’re cool with using a rare weapon for a while and are in love with the looks, because they’re as powerful as any other level 80 rare weapon.
Thank you for your answers. That’s basically what I already assumed, but its good to let me know for sure. So basically I am better of at the trading post, and after that farming dungeons for better gear right?
Only if you can afford it. As I mentioned, AC armour and weapons are a good first step. The weapons are some of the cooler weapons in the game, to boot.

But wont my gear be a problem for doing lvl 80 runs in AC? I know I will scale back to level 40, but are the drops in there good enough so after a few runs I will have some upgrades to my mostly blue/green armor?

You get the tokens, Ascalonian Tears, which you exchange at Fort Mariner in Lion’s Arch for the gear. You don’t use the dropped items, that’s mostly just gold in item form (vendor trash).
Also, drops scale with your level; you will find lvl 80 gear in AC if you run it at lvl 80. Especially in the chests.

Oh ok thanks! Didn’t know about the tokens. So I better go for some runs then. Thanks all for your answers! You have helped me very much
You should go check all the dungeon vendors out. They’re all there in Fort Mariner, bunched together. Preview and drool over the armour sets you’ll eventually want

My guardian has been running AC in masterwork gear. I facetank bosses, rarely use my dodge roll, AoE bomb trash mobs, and almost never go down.

That’s the beauty of AC: it is a low level dungeon, easily doable at lvl80 with some practice. Yet it still gives you lvl 80 rewards for the tokens.
Great for when you’ve just hit 80 for the first time.
