Guild Wars 2

So after you get the gear and look that you want you are left with PvP. I get it PvP is allot of fun but for how long will the same professions and same gameplay keep you hooked?

In games like League of Legends it’s always the same gameplay but the difference is that every two weeks they add a new champion and new skins to change the way you look and play.

So when I have gotten a Mesmer and I have gotten bored of using the same skills and switching between the same looks what is there left to do?

Create a new build, find a different way to play, challenge yourself, etc etc. There is always something to do, you just have to depend in yourself to create your own goals. This is not the sorta game that will do it for you. At some point you have to learn how to direct your own life.

I fully expect that three months from now, Anet will have added new events, quests, and gearsets for me to chase.

Every game has a finite amount of things you can do, and an even smaller amount of things that would find interesting. Additionally, it is just a game and a free to play one at that; if at some point you find yourself bored, feel free to stop.

For me, I think running across the map in random directions slaughtering anything stupid enough to be in my way will be entertaining enough. It’s fun to just dive right in to dynamic events and keep trucking across the plains. Sure beats the snot out of queueing up for lfd everyday and at this stage in my MMO career, it beats raiding any day. Period.

i will. i always take my time playing through the maps and levels. i don’t expect to be 80 for a long time, because that’s not my goal. i’m enjoying looking at the world. i mean, it’s gorgeous. the most beautiful game i’ve ever seen. and the fights are so much fun.

of course i’ll still be playing in 3 months. I have 7 other characters to level up.

Yes, unlike in other mmos I can play this when I want due to not having subs. Also the SPvP is really strong in terms of how its balanced and plays out. Even if I take a 2month break I know I will come back to play some more just because I can. Should I ever become bored of my proff I can reroll an entirely new one, jump into SPvP and be on a equal footing as someone who started during BW1 (excluding the skill difference ofc).

Absolutely This is the perfect game for me. I am one of those players who hates rushing to level cap. With this game its not a problem. All the different ways to level and the “endgame content” feel of events, especially the swamp behemoth, finally make the journey much more enjoyable than the destination. Add to that the storylines based on your character setup and the choices made at creation and 5 different start areas to boot. 3 months from now I may still not be at cap with even one of my characters …and I wont care because its too much fun.

I hated the grind in WoW and still managed to play it for 2 years until I had had enough of the elitist gear checking snobbery even though my lvl 82 DK could hand them their lunch.

This game is still in its infancy, it isn’t even a month old yet. Take a look at the original Guild Wars, although its old and its days are over it was amazing for its time. ArenaNet gave the game something much different than expansion packs, episodes. The game was literally split up into episodes and to fully enjoy the game the episodes were needed. With Guild Wars 2 they have opened up many possibilities for the series, we might not get episodes but there will definitely be a couple expansion packs. New professions are likely to come, the soldier line could use a new profession to even them out. Even if we don’t get new professions ArenaNet will do whatever it takes to keep this game alive.

Probably not. Already at the point of uninstalling. Great game, wish to heck they’d decide if they want to be an MMO or a jump-n-run platformer (Views and some POI’s). I do not have the physical ability for platformers due to an imparement, and am really HAPPY to discover every map completion has some sucktastic jump from tiny little platform to tiny little platform. Combine that with the screwball camera zooming randomly in and out if anything gets close with the Charr’s HUGE size blocking views and its a prescription for intense frustration for non-arcade players.

Great game, really schizophrenic implementation…its like since they got the Z dimension that GW1 didn’t have, the devs couldn’t wait to make ‘Super Mario meets Tyria’ with it.

Probably, but maybe not as much as I am now. The game is obviously new and I still have so much to do. Unlike many others I haven’t gotten to 80 yet but I expect to within a couple weeks as I’m at 60 now. I’ve also made 3 alts already and I plan on making 1 more. That will cover the 5 races so I’ll probably play through each storyline so I expect that to take a few months at my pace. It still kind of blows my mind how fast people blow through content. I’ve spent more hours in this game than many many other games I’ve owned and I feel I’ve barely scratched the surface and we’ve already got people who are ready to give up on it cause they “have nothing to do.”

hoping for even better PVP tourneys and stuff…

i am hoping and expecting more GvG not just PVP and WVW…

i dont think its crazy to think that GUILD WARS is going to have a GVG

this will be epic.

lets hope PVP and GVG and a Heros type ascent

and some ESPORTS recognition…

but the game is great and three months from now it has more potential the way it is now already than anything else

even if storyline gets old.

you know there is going to be hidden stuff that gets well known like FoW and stuff…

its almost a given in my mind.
