Eyo, I have a question concerning armor skins. I’m currently playing a level 19 thief and I’m thinking about purchasing the phoenix light armor skin. However, I am aware that the thief is limited to medium armor only. So my question is, if I were to get the previously mentioned skin, would I be able to apply it to any of my armors, or will I be unable to use it?

Nope, you’d have to make a light armor class character to use the phoenix skin at all.

Some item skins are exclusive to X armor type (Light/Medium/Heavy) while others are universal. If you hover over the tooltips it will show you the limitations for each.

“Can only be used by characters who wear X armor”
“Can be used by any race and profession”
“This will replace the appearance of one X armor of any weight class and unlock the skin in your account wardrobe”

Once you purchase a skin it will unlock in your wardrobe allowing you to reuse the same skin at the cost of a (Transmutation Charge) which can be purchased/earned from the Gem Store/BL Chests/Daily Achievements/Map Completion/PvP rewards.
