Armor appearance.
There’s a series of armour skins that become more and more ornate as you reach 80.

Here is a list and gallery of all the available armours.
Every armour set is available in the given set of stats. So a Mighty Worn Chain Armor set will look exactly the same as a Rejuvenating Worn chain armor set. As you go to higher level areas, the armour skins that drop will change.
There’s also a set of armor skins that are only available as crafted armour, whether it be in Fine, Masterwork, Rare or Exotic rarities.
Then there are the Karma only armours, WvW armours, Order (Vigil, Order of Whispers or Durmand Priory) specific armours, which are bought for 8gold 88silver 88 copper. Each character can only buy from one set of the orders since your personal story forces you to select one order to join. As a reward you gain access to those armour and weapon skins.
Yes it will change, and A LOT.
You can preview several skins if you go to the bank NPC and check the vault, there you can see all the possible skins you can unlock, and then search how you can obtain it on the wiki, just type “/wiki [name of the skin]” in game to be redirected to the official wiki page.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yeah, the armors looks basically the same or changes but with similar skins throughout our story and leveling, but you can improve it by running dungeons once you are level 35 (Ascalonian catacombs) and subsequently running every dungeon you are unlocking. Even if you won’t be able to use this gear until lv80 (at least for the exotic version), you can still unlock its skin to apply with your transmutations, though at that point I would suggest to wait for level 80 and make your exo gear to start apllying skins.
This game’s skins are best found at level 80.
Alternatively, you can always buy gear off the TP once you made some gold and unlock the skins with those parts, or you can level up armorsmithing to craft your own armor, unlocking most of the Fine /masterwork gear skins.
There are armour options open to you pre-level 80. Firstly, you can try cultural armour, vendors are located in your racial home city and there are 3 sets available at levels 35, 60 and 80 respectively. The tier 3 stuff is very expensive but the tier 1 may be more manageable.
Next you can purchase karma armour from the heart vendors on various maps. At level 42 you’d be able to wear the Pit Fighter set which is available from various vendors in several mid-level maps. This is also available through WvW where you can spend badges of honour instead of karma.
Another option is either to craft or purchase crafted armour. Again there are different sets available depending on level and the type of armour you get from mob drops does change eventually, but can all be very similar until level 55+. Scroll up this page for info on crafted and loot armour.
Final options are of course items from the gem store, but anything you use as a skin now will have to be transmuted multiple times as you upgrade your armour stats all the way up to level 80. That’s why most people content themselves with crafted, karma or drops until then.

It will definitely change. You have quite a few options, and you can mix and match as well as change their color.
