I got in a mail a box where i had to select a type of armor i want.. And i didnt know there was the class diff betwen them,since im new to this game,and now i got a thief/eng armor and im a Guardian,any way i can switch the sets or i have to make a new char?

Making a new character won’t help because you only get that box once.

Contact Support and explain what happened. They should either swap the armor for the one you can use, or give you another box. You can contact them by using the link under ‘Services’ at the top of the page.

(And hopefully if enough people do this they’ll realise items specifically for new players need to either be universal or they need to make it very clear which ones you can and can’t use because they can’t assume people will know all about the game already.)

This is the players helping players thread, and there are not tools available for players that can do this. You could sent a support ticket to Arenanet (top off this page). Keep in mind that their tools are also limited, they can’t make item appear on the live servers but they might have a way to help you anyway.

It would be much easyer if the box said Heavy Armor,Medium Armor and Light Armor..
