Hey all, I have 27 laurels right now and only need 7 more champion kills to get my monthly chest. I am definitely going to buy berserker neck (power/precision/crit damage) and I want to ask that if there is a reason why not to buy an amulet which has a utility slot? I am looking at defensive and offensive infusions and they are well bad to say the least. +3 toughness infusion for 5 laurels, are you kidding me? On the other hand utility infusions cost 20 laurels but they are atleast decent like +20% increased gold or magic find etc.

So is there something else to know about these ascended jewelery that I need to know or just go with utility slot?

You could min-max with a 5AR/5power infusion which costs around 80 gold. That allows you to go a little bit higher in fractals. If that’s not your cup of tea, I’d strongly recommend utility.

Regardless, if you don’t have AR yet, you can put a versatile infusion into any slot which allows you to farm FotM until you have a ring or back and infuse that one. AT that point you can replace the versatile infusion with any utility infusion.

tl’dr: take utility. Except for the most elitist players, defensive or offensive on neck makes no sense.

I should note that if you want to min-max, the WvW infusions come with +5 to a stat as well, and cost 5 laurels and 125 badges, but give 1% increased defense/damage against guards/lords instead of AR.

Thanks for the valuable input both, I haven’t started doing any FotM yet and I suppose AR is only needed above lvl 10 which will take some time for me to get to. And I am not a pvp’er/WvW so gonna stick with utility slot for now.
