So if I just wanted to spend the gold how much would it take to make a set of heavy acs armor, what would I need to buy, what would I still have to collect?

First thing you would need is lv500 armorsmithing. After that most thing can be bought.

You will need empyreal fragments, bloodstone dust and dragonite ore to make the vision crystal along with some skill points.

Heavy ascended can be crafted for 359 gold if bought using buy orders or 374 gold if bought using sell orders for all of the basic components and you craft everything yourself.
