I have got a Knight Ascended Armour Chest not long ago. I have not open it yet since I do not which character I want to use it for.

I know that Ascended Armour is only account bound and not soul bound. So it can be transferred between characters of the same armour type. But can I use a Transmutation charge on an Ascended Armour? If I use it to change a piece of Ascended Armour into the look of a cultural armour can I still transfer it to a character of different race?

Once you open the Ascended armor chest the skin will be saved to your wardrobe and it can be transmuted. Unfortunately you can only use Cultural armor that matches the characters race/armor type.

As Highchu stated, transmuting a cultural skin onto it will add that species to the equip requirements for that item, thus a character of a different species cannot equip it due to not meeting all of the requirements imposed on the item (level, weight, species, etc).

You would need to first transmute a different skin onto the item to remove that cultural requirement for a different species to be able to equip it.

If you’ve put a cultural skin on it you won’t be able to use it on characters of different races. But it’s easy to fix: just use the wardrobe (and another transmutation charge) to put a different skin on it and then you can transfer it.

That’s true, but the wardrobe only saves the skin. I assume it’s the stats that the OP wants to be able to use on different characters.

So in short: No, you cannot use transmutation charges to put cultural armor to a different race, since adding that skin will result in the gear getting an additional requirement of being of that specific race.
