So…I was recently comparing celestial ascended armor with exotic; and it appears that, besides a different look, all you get is +7 more to each stat, and no more critical damage.

Is it really worth it to get ascended armor, or should I just get the exotic versions? (Already got plenty of charged crystals.

Edit: to clarify, by what I said before, I meant celestial, sorry for the confusion

You actually get 1% more crit damage on the legs part in a zerker set.
But stat-wise I don’t think it is worthy, I crafted one because I didn’t have anything else to spend gold and I wanted to get a goal, so yeah.

Critical Damage is getting replaced soon with a different stat so … uh not really sure.

Anyway, sure go for ascended if you have nothing else to do and don’t care to sell the materials for gold. If you aren’t going to be doing much fractals you don’t need it.

If you’re full ascended (except for breather…), then you don’t have to worry about it anymore. That’s worth it, isn’kitten :P

My main is in full Exotic and it works just fine for me. Nearly finished my Legendary so after that I might work towards getting some Ascended weapons for my alts. I think crafting ascended armor will be to much hastle

If you really want Celestial it may actually be better for you to get an Ascended version. Thing is… the recipes for the Exotics nowadays cost almost as much as making the Ascendeds…

However, do note that if critdmg% is nerfed without compensation, celestial will be the hardest hit of all stat combinations.

I’ve been avoiding getting ascended armor or weapons. Trinkets, yes, but for the rest exotics seem to be fine. I don’t even worry about what stats my weapons are and I’m doing fine in group contribution.

If you want pink armor text for gear uniformity, go ahead.

If you want stats per gold, just invest in proper infusions (eg/ fine-quality Mighty Infusions ~50g/ea, Versatile Mighty Infusions ~120g/ea). Whilst on ascended versus exotic sets (non-celestial) you get 17 (major)/11 (minor) (I believe) to your stats, a full set of infusions on your trinkets and weapons will get you +40 to whichever stat, or at least that many points in different distributions should you choose to mix and match. Ultimately, for me at least (since I farm gold and buy components rather than gather, refine, and craft), this was a cheaper alternative to increase my stats.

Armor you can forego, but picking up weapons will result in a noticeable damage increase over exotics.

Weapons are worth it….I personally don’t feel that a 4.8-5.2% boost for the cost is worth it for armor. Weapons gave 10% so that was a big enough bump to justify the cost.

otherwise, just stay with the exotics….

Thats also just the difference compared with exotics. If you compare the difference on to your total stats it just around 1% that a full set of armor gives.
