Can I transmute an ascended backpiece with other backpieces?

example:
“Fractal Capacitor” stats + “Mad Memories” appearance
You can, but if you choose to ‘infuse’ the fractal capacitor later via the MF you WILL lose any skin that was applied to it.
I would suggest only applying a skin to a backpiece that you have upgraded as much as you want already.
