Hey guys,
So when this game first came out I played quite a bit, then had to go to a class for the Air Force and fell behind.
Now, I am level 49 and I decided to go ahead and try a dungeon as I knew nothing about them before I quit. Spent 15 minutes looking for a group at the entrance to no avail then I asked to see if people even run dungeons with players below 80.
Was told, sometimes but they wouldn’t advise it. Leaves me at a loss here, it seems like they would be great XP and I would get gear. Now I have to wait until I am 80, so I will walk in and be completely lost.
I guess I am just used to WoW where you hit a certain level then you find a group for that dungeon, easy enough. This concept confuses me.
I am also just lost in general as to builds, where people gear up etc…
Is there some type of beginners guide you guys would recommend? I feel like I have been left in the dust after I took my long break…
You can start running dungeons at lvl 30, but I recommend 40 or higher with more skills and an elite. You should be good to run Ascalonian Catacombs or Cadecus Manor. As long as your equipment is up to your lvl you should be good. Dungeons are a little rough so don’t get discouraged. I died a bunch of times on my first couple runs, but the xp and gear can net you some coin and is well worth the time especially if you want to save up tokens for specific armor sets.
you can probably find people to do story mode version of the dungeons at lower levels. check out gw2lfg.com if you are having trouble finding like minded people
If you are in Sanctum of Rall server I would help you out and run a dungeon with you. If not ask around in your guild for the PvE officer/leader and he should help set something up. If he doesn’t find a better guild more PvE focused.

My family and I also play on Sanctum of Rall. We don’t run dungeons often because of baby aggro, but if you don’t mind the occasional break for tending to the little one or my son’s less-than-stellar skills, we have 3 players (all 80, including 2 guardians) that are more than happy to run dungeons, and we honestly don’t care about your level, the only restriction we have is that we don’t group with jerks—something I don’t think will be an issue if you look us up.
Also, look up Glitch’s Operation: Unity post; theres a lot of folks in there of a like mindset across most, if not all servers.
Just a hint for those not aware….even with guesting not in yet, it is possible to do cross-server dungeon runs. So say you are on SOR and invite me to your party. We all zone into our own server’s Plains of Ashford. If I, on SBI, go into the dungeon, you’ll get the pop-up inviting you to join my instance.
I do cross server dungeons with friends on Northern Shiverpeaks, works like a charm.
Good luck and have fun!
Thanks a lot guys.
I ended up using the gw2lfg.com website and found a group pretty quick. Ended up in a guild group, went through my first dungeon and joined the guild.
Onto my second dungeon now.
Thanks for the help guys, who would have thought it would be that easy!
.Finding a good guild will go a long way to solving most of your problems.
