I’ve been theorycrafting, and I think I’m going to go for a build that looks like this:

Pow : 1600
Pre : 1679 (40%)
Tuf : 1541
Vit : 1418 (23,392 HP)
CndDmg : 946
Healing : 150
CritDmg : 15%

What I want to know is, at what point is there too much balance?

Take that build for example. I’m a Warrior, Sword/Axe and Longbow, focused on conditions. The build has high Condition Damage, medium Power/Precision/Toughness/Vitality, and low Healing/Crit Damage.

Do you think that building like this would be effective in your normal PvE and WvW situation? Is it a good build, balanced out nicely, but if you try to balance it too much more it’ll start to get bad? Or is it already bad, and it needs to be more focused on certain stats?

Your opinions?

Sword/Axe only has conditions on the autoattack. Longbow only has 1 condition attack, fan of fire which is on a 6 sec CD. I dont think that’s enough condition damage attacks to justify stacking condition damage.

EDIT: if you just did steady autoattack with your sword you will get to 7-8 stacks of bleeds. But since you’ll be using other skills too, it looks like you will usually be at 5-6 stacks of bleeds instead of 7-8.

DOUBLE EDIT: forgot about F1 which has bleeds too. It does stack really high, but it is only for a 2 second duration, and it is a channeled ability which means it is more likely to be interrupted.

Well, actually…

Sword: Autoattack, Flurry
Longbow: Fan of Fire, Combustive Shot

Also, every time I crit, I have a 60% chance to cause a 5-second bleed (Sigil of Earth), and an additional 33% chance to cause a 5-second bleed (Precise Strikes). Dual Strike on the axe gives me Fury, which gives me a higher chance to proc bleeds. Whirling Axe can stack those up quick. Also, if I throw down a fire field with Combustive Shot, Savage Leap in [fire shield], then use Whirling Axe [burning bolts], there’s burning right there.

Like I said in my previous post, I have the “bleed on crit” stuff. Also, my bleeds also last 50% longer, so it’s 3 seconds thank you very much. XD

This isn’t really about what I’m doing specifically, I’m trying to get a discussion about balanced builds in general. lol

Yah i forgot about the F1’s for both, but the trait info would have been useful. But even then you are using crits to proc bleeds. You end up sacrificing cond dmg to get your crit high enough to get the bleed procs. You might want to pop in the necro forums too, and look for discussions about more then 2 necros with bleeds on the same boss. See how your bleeds and their will interact if you are in the group with multiple necros/sb rangers or other bleed dependent profs.

I wont go any more into it because i am kinda tired and my eyelids are getting a bit heavy.

Well with condition heavy builds you dont have to worry about stacking power or crit. Unless its a cond build like yours that relies on crits to proc bleeds. When you dont have to worry about power or precision, that means you can stack other stats/traits like toughness or vitality which for a melee war like yourself would be a good idea.

On the other hand if you stack power and precision that means you dont want to stat/trait for cond too because then thats also less tough/vit/power and precision that you can stat or trait in to.
