Is there such a thing? I own no cellphone. I’m old and set in my ways. I don’t think everyone on earth needs to be able to contact me any second of the day, anywhere I go.

I do have one of these new fangle kindle fires though. It’s a good reader and I can listen to audiobooks with it. Since I can’t use it to download apps from Google Play, is there a authenticator made for the fire?

I read they have one for an iPhone, but I don’t own an iPhone. I do have a kindle and an iPad. If an authenticator was available for either of those, that would be great.

Edit: googled. I’m an older person, old enough to have AARP interested in me. ^^ Not particularly computer literate. I’ll have to study that and see if that’s something I want to attempt. As it says in the site I looked up.

There’s something important to keep in mind before you get started. Rooting your tablet and mucking around with the /system/ directory can be a bit risky. If anything goes wrong, you could end up with an unbootable tablet — and since the Kindle Fire has a locked bootloader, there’s no simple way to restore from a backup or re-install the operating system yet.

A little risky maybe for someone whose main computer expertise is hitting the on button. ^^
