Q:

Does anyone know how much damage/boon duration do blast finishers provide?
I have a ranger and when I place the healing spring I can finish it by either backing away and firing projectiles at the are which gives me healing or do a BLAST FINISHER by using the warhorn. However, I want to know if it is worth it since the time that I take to finish the combo can be well used to evade or attack. Thanks in advance guys

A:

I am referring to the 20% for the blast vs 12.5% for Regeneration. I am not seeing how 12.5 is ever a bigger number than 20.

Because 12.5 + 12.5 = 25.

When you use the projectile finisher, you get 2 seconds of regeneration. 1 second later, this regeneration heals you for 130 + 12.5% of your healing power. 1 second after that, it heals you for 130 + 12.5% of your healing power again. Then the regeneration boon ends. The total healing resulting from the finisher is therefore 260 + 25% of your healing power.
If you have +100% boon duration, the regeneration will last for four ticks, and therefore heal 520 + 50% of your healing power. Hence, way better scaling then the blast finisher, but much lower of a base value. In addition, you have to wait for the regeneration to take effect, which could take quite a while when you consider that healing spring also provides regeneration, and regeneration stacks duration.

The blast will heal a lot more. Even if you manage to double the duration on the regen(I don’t remember if the boon duration cap is 90% or 100%) it is still less than half of the blast and the blast also scales better with healing power.

the blast also scales better with healing power.

This is false. The scaling you see for regeneration is per second, and since the finisher starts at two seconds it scales better than the blast finisher to begin with. Getting +100% boon duration then doubles this scaling, making it scale way faster than the blast.

The end result is that with max healing power and boon duration, the regen is worth about 85% of the blast finisher, so the blast is still superior (unless you are triggering multiple projectile finishers). But that is a result of the huge difference in base values, not because of poor scaling.

@Haar. It would only be 520 + 12.5% of your healing power. Saying it goes up to 50% would be like saying Hundred Blades on Warrior goes 10>20>30% extra damage on hit against bleeding foes. Every tick is 130 + 12.5% for the regen.

Edit: My bad, did it wrong. At 1000 healing power after 4 ticks it would heal 1020. A blast heals 1520 faster, and in an area healing allies too
