Okay so I’ve read up on the living story and since we might actually get to see another dragon I’ve decided to come back, but I have some questions.
1. Firstly, from what I recall legendaries were meant to get ascended stats, which is great- except mine still has exotic stats. Is there something I’m meant to do to make it have the correct stats?
2. Gem conversion rates, geez look at those prices! I saw t6? mats are worth 5 or so times the amount they used to be – is that where the money is now or how do I go about making some cash?
3. Account bound dyes, that was awesome of them.
4. Is diminishing returns still a thing?
5. I didn’t really notice any new armours/weapons or dungeons what new content has actually been introduced and has remained permanent?
Edit:
6. Also my current world’s wvw fell apart due to infighting from what I recall, how easy is it to switch worlds now, I heard something about a mega server?

1) Did you transmute your legendary – keeping the skin but changing the stats for something else? If so then I think it won’t have been upgraded because it’s technically a regular exotic with a legendary’s skin.
I’m not sure if there’s a way to change it back now the Transmutation Splitter is gone, you might need to contact Support.
2) Gem conversion rates have been rising steadily since launch, but are higher than usual now because a lot of new items have been added to the gem store recently. T6 mats have also gone up because of inflation.
You’ll have to wait for someone else to answer the question about how to make gold.
4) Yes diminishing returns is still in the game. But, assuming you mean the actual diminishing returns mechanic (where if you farm the same enemies in the same map for several hours the drops get worse) and not any of the numerous unrelated systems players use the same name for it’s easy to avoid – just switch characters or go to a different map for a bit and it will reset.
5) Well if you’ve been gone since before ascended weapons were released (which is when legendaries were upgraded) they’ll be new. I can’t remember when ascended armor was added but that might be new too.
There’s also all of Season 2 of the Living Story which is permanent, including a new map (Dry Top) and more coming next week. Lots of other stuff too but I’m not going to list a years worth of releases, you can check the wiki for that.
6) Switching servers works the same way it always did. Mega servers only apply to PvE – it basically means all servers share the same maps instead of having their own copy and overflows, which means it’s rare to find an empty map in PvE. But WvW is still server specific, except The Edge of the Mists obviously.
1) Legendaries are supposed to be ascended so either you’re mistaken in some way, you transmuted it before they changed or it’s a bug. You might need to contract support about it.
2) money is typically from dungeons, farming and selling the mats or flipping items on the trading post. Some other people do other things like buy large numbers of underpriced bags, open them and sell the contents.
4) yes. DR is still in game.
5) new armor and weapons: PvP has a couple of new armors (Glorious). The new map, Dry Top has Ambrite weapons. WvW has the Hero weapons. The achievement rewards are the Zenith and Pinnacle weapons and the Hellfire and Radiant armor. Crafting has the ascended armors and ascended weapons.
6) Megaservers are only PvE and PvP. It has nothing to do with WvW maps or servers. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/introducing-the-megaserver-system/
They combine all the maps into a few so populations are concentrated and when the map hits its cap a new copy is made.
Transferring to another server is the same as before. Either pay a gem cost or delete all your characters and you can transfer for free to any non full server.

Thanks guys.
Concerning the Legendary, yes it was transmuted before the stats were updated-most people playing at that time had them transmuted. What was ArenaNet’s protocol for legendaries that had been transmuted when that update took place?
You’re really going to have to contact Support to see what they will do. Possibly they will send you another or maybe a Transmutation Splitter, if those are still available, but you will need to discuss that with them.
