Guild Wars 2

Hey there, not sure if this is the best section to file this under, but I’ve been gone since may and have recently got back into GW2. I’ve noticed that an awful lot has changed and it’s rather overwhelming right now, if you could help by consolidating everything into a few paragraphs, or even linking to the most informative, but concise material you can find would be much appreciated. I currently live a very busy lifestyle and if I were to read over everything there is just to find the few nuggets of information I need I’d have no time to actually play GW2.

My main is a necromancer and I’m used to playing it as a condition build. I’ve already re-jiggered my traits a little to help with that. I’ll break my main needs down into a few questions, for easy answering.

1) What changes have been made to the necromancer profession; is there anything I should change? I mainly play PVE, dungeons mostly.

2) Is there new equipment or items in game that make a significant change to the way the game is played, if so, what are they.
2.5)Should I be aiming to get any new equipment myself, currently I’m playing scept-dag + staff, with nightmare armor.

3) Are there new areas, quests or challanges? If so, what are the major ones? Do you have any personal recommendations?

4) Have the game mechanics changed in any significant way? If so, how?

5) Is there anything else you should inform me of? Is there anything else I should be doing?

I’ve already done a good few google searches and mostly found pages of content, which would take me hours, if not days to read, I understand there have been an awful lot of changes, I only really want to know about the ones that will affect me significantly, I’m happy to learn about the other ones as I play.

Can’t help much with changes to Necro, best maybe checking that particular forum section – also know that there are more balance changes coming in December.

Tequatl is a new open world “raid” so to speak, you can look into that. Magic find is different now (not sure if covered in the video above, watched it a month ago).

Edit: One TA path was revamped.

Edit II: Mhh, there is a new ground target option in case you use staff as well, play with that. Floating damage indicator looks a bit different now, you can reverse that. Tab target was been revamped a bit.

I’d also add to Rouven’s reply, mainly in answer to your first couple of questions, that there are some major trait, skill and balance changes coming for all professions around 10th December. So, find your feet again, try some new content and tweak your existing build but I would suggest you hold off making any expensive gear changes (especially crafting ascended gear) until after that patch.

Welcome back – it may seem like some big changes have happened but the community is still as helpful as ever, and you’ll catch up quickly enough with stuff.
