I don’t know if this has been asked already, but are they planning on coming out with new ascended back pieces with all stats or anything? I’m planning on upgrading my backpiece but afraid they’ll add more and I’ll be wasting 500 ectos lol. Should I wait or go ahead with it?

short answer: Unknown!!
If anything is planned and communicated it is through the news section on the site mainpage. But in most cases it is just saying something like ‘new items are going to be available at the laurel vendor’ and its not till the patch note till we know more.

If you buy a piece, you should do so in the full knowledge that it may be nerfed next patch.

I bought syzygy 2 days before the earring patch, expecting something to happen to ascended equipment and laurels. To my surprise, the item got buffed, but the opposite could have happened just as well.

How long do you want to wait?

Im still wearing the back piece for the personal story at lvl80 lol.
I have looked on the trader but there is no “back” under the armor section and the other searches i have tried turned up nothing.

1) The few Back pieces on the BLTC drop from the Fractals and use the “Spineguard” name series. For some dumb reason, the search filter on the BLTC won’t see those pieces as a Back piece.

2) Beyond that, you buy Back pieces from a NPC vendor or you make them for yourself using a rediculous recipe list in the Mystic Forge. For reference, I know that the Orr priest karma vendors did have Back pieces added to their selections. (Each vendor has x1 Back piece choice.) If you’re willing to spend gold, the standard guild armor NPC and the new guild token NPC have some options.

The dungeon drops are probably the only ones you’ll find on the TP, I think all the otheres are soul or accountbound, and they all have specific names so have a look at that link and then search for them eg. spineguard, etc.

I think the best quality you get from dungeon drops are rare so if you’re looking for exotic then the guild armourer might be your best bet, or go for an ascended one?

Edit: actually a couple of the dungeon drops are exotic quality, so if they meet your stat requirements you might be able to get them on the TP.

The Temple karma vendors in Orr sell exotic level spineguards that are a lot cheaper then the costly guild armorer.

Oh yeah, I forgot that they added those in – good idea, much better than mine if you have the karma to spare.

Ok so this got way off topic, i have same concern. The addition of new stats to ascended items seemed to have ignored back items. It’s weird because unlke the jewelry no new icon or clever name is needed to make the additions, just need the stats. I’ve been hoping at each new update that the missing back items will be added, but that hasnt been the case. Please let us know when ascended back items will recieve the new stat types that have already been introdueced to other ascended items.
