My account recently has been temporarily banned for “Unapproved Third Party Software” but to my knowledge, I do not use any 3rd party software for any of the games I play. I am very confused as to why I have been banned for a week over something I have no idea about. Does anet have a way to detect the specific program so I can deal with it? If one of the devs like looks at my account history, you’ll see I’ve spent way to much money on this game and I would love to keep supporting it but being falsely banned is kinda a turn off I don’t know why anyone would waste time trying to hack this game when anet has very good anti bot systems but as i’ve seen, it has a few flaws resulting in innocent bans but what system doesn’t.

Were you by any chance doing any AFK farming? If so, go see one of the various threads to see the discussion on that.

But either way, the only way to get any official word back is to submit a ticket to support. Link is at the top of the page.

If you’re making up stuff it’ll not help your case, as sometimes AN will come on the forums and expose people…

I did put in a ticket yes but was wondering if the forums had any more knowledge or if anyone else had this problem.
No I was not AFK farming and no I’m not making stuff just putting my story out there.

I saw a thread on the Account forum where several people said they had been unexpectedly banned/suspended and they said they hadn’t done anything. However I can’t find that thread now.

All you can do is contact support and wait for a reply.

“3rd party software” is basically a generic reason for, we saw you do something that isn’t possible through normal play. It doesn’t actually mean you are using any cheat software. There have been cases in the past where people have been banned for simply playing, because it was ArenaNet’s automated detection that was flawed, such as the one jumping puzzle a while back where falling flagged your account for an automatic ban.

Alternatively, your account was hacked and someone else is botting/etc on it or you’re sharing an IP, or once shared an IP with someone who is botting/etc.
