just before living world 1 started i left,

what should i do to catch up with the GW2 world?

I did not stop playing because I was bored or anything, i just stopped because of my backlog, and i decided i want to play more for the expansion!

The best options is probably to make a new character and use them to re-learn the game. There are new level up rewards which will introduce you to the mechanics as they are now, which will probably be easier than reading through almost 3 years of patch notes.

I agree. Definitely make a new character to relearn the game and organically experience the new player experience.

Once you hit Level 80 you can either chose to finish the personal story which ends with the (spoiler) death of Zhaitan OR you could unlock Season 2 with gems. Season 2 consists of 8 episodes that will take you to Dry Top and the Silverwastes. Two new zones that can both be accessed on the western border of Brisban Wildlands. The story of Season 2 will be continuted in the upcoming expansion.

On a sidenote: Living World Season 1 is not available anymore.

Yeah, me too since I took several breaks during Season 1 They said re-implementing Season 1 is something they want to do in the future but it’s just too much work right now.

That I can guarantee that won’t happen. They are all focused on the expansion.
After HoT we’ll have a possibility to have LS1.
