Been there Done that
You can just open the map and hover over the map name to see which map is missing the PoI.
If you can’t find the missing POI try visiting the Chantry of Secrets. It’s often overlooked and it can’t hurt to double check that location.
You’ve only been gone for about 2 to 3 months? I don’t think anything new has been added to the world map in the last 3 months, not for map completion at any rate.
ANet may give it to you.
Well there were new hearts and a new poi in brisban wildlands

Those weren’t added in the last 3 months, which is the length of time you’ve said you’ve been gone.
Dry Top and the poi was in July 2014. The hearts were put in September 2014 with the new player experience.

So my game must have bugged out because I had all the maps on 100% apart from Eternal Battlegrounds and now all of my maps show 100% even though it says I am missing 1 poi.

Might be the PoI in the Silverwastes jumping puzzle? I know I’m missing that one.
Do you have the gold star for map completion? If so, it’s a non-essential POI you are missing, which might be in one of the new maps or the one added with the LS in Brisban Wildlands (bottom left corner).

I thought the Silverwastes don’t count towards the completion just like other level 80 zones?

I got the Brisban Wildlands and all the maps show 100% and have a gold star but I didn’t get the achievement

All maps show 100% completion, even The Chantry of Secrets Map? The Chantry of Secrets is a separate map that is reached from Bloodtide Coast. It contains one POI. There is a POI in Bloodtide Coast itself but you must go through the Asura gate into the Chantry and then get to the POI in there.
Get what achievement? Explorer? In that case, there are probably some other areas you missed. They don’t count toward the 100% and the title, but you won’t get the explorer achievements without them. I recommend visiting the wiki, looking at a map of the respective areas and then comparing it to your own ingame. You’ll find out where you haven’t been yet soon enough.

Silverwastes, Dry Top, and Southsun don’t count. Neither do dungeons, Claw Island, Edge of the Mists, or Obsidian Sanctum.
I will repeat the advice given in an earlier post. Hover your cursor over each one and see which one is (N-1)/N for POI’s.
I suggest writing down every map and writing down what fraction of POI’s they have. That way you don’t miss any.

I could be reading the OP’s posts wrong (and it’s been awhile since I got it myself) but I don’t think “Been There Done That” is an achievement. You won’t get a popup on your screen. Instead, it should show up as one of the selectable titles you can give a character on the list in your Hero window, under “General” and then “Hero”.
As for the missing PoI (if that’s still an issue), as others have mentioned, Chantry of Secrets is the “usual” culprit. If that’s not it, try checking the cities (sometimes overlooked).

I’ve done it 8 times and haven’t done Claw Island on all of them. Claw Island also isn’t listed for world completion. It’s a personal story instance, not part of the regular maps you can waypoint to.

Looks like I miscounted a map yesterday.

I think they might have tried to fix the issue with Chantry in a weird way. On my last 3 characters getting the Winterkell PoI in Cursed Shore gave me the Chantry completion.
So I added all of my PoIs and I got 727 out of 727, meaning my game is bugged and I am missing one PoI because all of the maps are completed.
Not necessarily. I’ll ask you again, since you haven’t said, is it the Explorer achievement you are after? Because if you have all vistas, POIs etc. and got the title and the star, everything has been counted correctly. The Explorer achievement, however, is tied to some areas that don’t have any of that, meaning they won’t count towards “Been There, Done That”, which is the reason a lot of players don’t even realise these areas exist.

That’s what I mean. Or am I misreading your posts somehow?

I have one area unexplored in Kryta but I have all the zones that are on the website you sent. Also, the world completion menu shows 727/728.
Did you go back to the Chantry of Secrets? If you haven’t, go back. And go inside. If that doesn’t resolve it, then an easy way to check where you’re missing a POI is to press M. Zoom out. Hover your mouse cursor over the name of each map. If you’ve completed that map, it will say 100%. If you haven’t, obviously it won’t say 100%. Do this for every zone in PvE. If you still don’t find your missing POI, then go into WvW and do the same thing with the maps.
The Explorer thing isn’t based off of zones. It’s based off of different parts of each zone. So, you clearly missed one of the Krytan ones somehow; it’s easy to overlook things. You’ll figure it out.

It’s just a weird bug that happens sometimes. It’s never happened to me when I’ve done map completion, but I’ve heard of it happening to plenty of others.
