Best PVE gears
Ascended gear is very very expensive to craft . In my opinion it isn’t worth crafting until you’re absolutely sure you’re going to be using it on a certain character and not getting bored of him after a few weeks.
Ascended gear is only slightly better than exotic gear which you can buy on the trading post for a few gold each piece.
As for what gear to wear I think the most popular set for thieves is berserker (power, precision, ferocity) but don’t quote me on that.
Anyway here’s some information on ascended if you’re interested

Ah thanks a lot I only play one character anyways, as I like to concentrate all my efforts to it, so Ascended is fine no matter how hard it is to craft.
Berserkers or assassins. Assassins gives you higher crit chance. But berserker gives you a steady dps out put. So its up to you. If you want constant damage with a good chance of a crit hit(berserker) or a lower but a much higher chance of a crit hit(assassin).
As far as ascended gear go’s. Unless you are going to be doing fractals os the mist, or a lot of WvW. I really would not bother. Trinkets and weapons are better to t your gold on, as they can be used on all of your characters, where are armor is restricted to the weight class only.

In an organized group, you’re already looking at around 91% crit chance with Berserker’s gear and appropriate traits. Throw in a Spotter, and you’re looking at just over 98% crit chance. So there’s no real need to run Assassin’s equipment unless you are regularly running in not-so great teams. Given the nature of a most thief builds you will end up stacking a lot of Ferocity giving you more mileage to the extra Precisions from Assassin’s gear.
I agree with holding off on Ascended equipment though with the exception of Trinkets. They’re fairly easy and inexpensive to obtain.
Next, I would recommend Weapons as you get an increase of about 5% in your weapon strength.
Finally, Armor pieces should be the last thing to get as they don’t offer much more than just raw attribute increase.
Each Ascended item comes with a form of infusion slot. Those slots can either be used for Agony Resistance (if you frequent fractals), or you can slot 4/5 stat increases. Some +stat infusions are really cheap. Others are ridiculously priced due to the ingredients required to put everything together.
