Hello,

Would anyone be able to tell me some of the best servers to pick if my main interest is small scale roaming WvW (8v8, 5v5, 5v15)?

I’m not interested in humping keeps or following a zerg. I’m interested in smaller scale WvW fights similar to DAoC 8v8s, does anything like that exist in GW2? If so could someone suggest the best servers to find that type of playstyle.

I’ve been in T2, T6 and now T3-4. I recommend looking at the T3-T5 area.

T2 is all zergs all the time.

T6 was mostly small groups, lots and lots of thief groups ganking solo players. The largest zerg was about 20 people.

T4 has some zergs with some havoc squads running around. Since coming here I’ve been in some small scale battles (5v5) and also some large scale ones (zerg v zerg). I like it best here.

Of course, all bets are off when you get paired off with a T1 or T2 server.

Edit: got the wrong tier for one of the servers.

the higher tiers actually have such groups, you just have a higher risk running into a big zerg, which makes it all more exciting and by capping the supply camps and tapping keeps, you can annoy the other server/help your own a lot, I haven’t been on lower tiers than T1/T2 (not really a server hopper) but that’s my experience, SoR doesn’t have many havoc squads imo, if you want to join with some friends you are always welcome!
