Hi all,

I’ve been away from the game for around 18 months now so as you can imagine it has changed a lot. I’m looking to get in game again and have just bought heart of thorns, which leads me to my question.

What is the best solo class to play? What is the best overall and which is the best out of Necro, Ranger, Warrior and Revenant?

Any help would be appreciated.

Necro and ranger are both great for soloing HoT content thanks to their minion/pet system.

Warrior is strong now, from personal experience solo roaming open world PvE I see
1. Rangers, 2. Necro 3. Warrior 4. Everyone else

Necro is the most enjoyable/easiest for soloing I think, and if you level up to Reaper you’re pretty much invincible, loads of fun running into the centre of a group of mobs and just scything them all down

This, I did my first pass of HoT with my Necro using a Minion Build with 600 healing and never had any issues. And this was on HoT release with it being ‘hard mode’.

Once I got my full Reaper Build that Minion Spec got a whole lot more fun to play. So, I do suggest it.

There is nowhere I can’t go with my ranger.

Ranger is not a solo class. He has pet with him. Cheater!

Ranger always was pretty easy in that regard. The pet and the range you enjoy make a lot of thing easier.

Reaper is the HoT elite spec for necro, which you unlock with hero points.

Condi – Condition (damage over time) damage
Tank – build that optimises survivability (and threat generation for group content)
Minions – those summonable npcs necro creates.

So a condi-tank-minion build is a build that uses minions to maximise survivability and deals primarily condition damage.

I ran my Engineer no problems. All ranges. All engagement types. All boons and conditions. Loads of defense and offense capabilities and builds.

And that was pre-scrapper.

I’d love to suggest playing Engineer – it is one of the current meta in SPvP AND it can be adjusted to takcle each and every objective and monster in PVE – if you prefer to go around killing kitten – check out berserker and other builds – if you want to tank up and take on Subject Alpha single handedly – check out my Healgineer build – it will let you stay alive even in hardest of fights.

Necro. By far.

With condition / tanky build and shroud as a second healthbar, necros can do pertty much anything they want.

I have soloed champions and twilight arbor dungeon with my necro.

IMO other good classes are
- Ranger (does good damage and can be built tanky & heal)
- Revenant (Tanky already, won’t run out of heals easily)
- Warrior (DPS / Tanky)

Of course every profession is able to do things solo, but i think those are the best.
