Best class for soloing PVE
I too would like some input on this. My 80 guardian seems a bit drab in solo’ing stuff, but he is built around group play. I am looking for a good alt that is good/fukittenolo PvE
Because there are No Tanks, No Healers, No DPS roles,
All professions can 100% Solo and do well in Group plays as long as the player understand how the 3 Combat mechanics functions.
Here is a Video to give you an idea how all 8 Professions would fight like:
Also you can check out this Next Video on how Damage/Control/Support combat mechanics functions during combat:
Dreamy, I appreciate the posts and am not trying to flame, but I’m not a new player. It’s not that my guardian is unplayable solo, it’s that he’s boring. Many of my skills are meant for groups, my ranged options are pretty limited, and I seem to be coming back to the same greatsword build to effectively level.
I’m therefore looking for any advice on a good class that either has more interesting mechanics, more variety in solo skill selection, or slightly more challenge.
Hmm… Warriors are good at solo’ing in PvE, there’s a video of a Warrior easily Solo’ing Gigantes Lupicus in Arah Dungeon. Warriors are good in melee and ranged with using a Greatsword and a Rifle.
Depends if you want to range or melee. I think pretty much any class can get repetitious after playing it awhile. Prolly the most varied would be elementalist imo since they got 4 attunements but again, after playing that for months I could see it getting old too.
Am I legendary yet!?
If you’re not having fun being a Guardian or any class you’re currently playing then what’s the point? I’ve tried to level most of the professions in this game, and I found Necromancer to be the most enjoyable for me, I don’t care if my profession isn’t as overpowered as the other professions…
Out of the 3 there, the best Solo profession would be Ranger then Engineer then Thief OP.
I like my Necromancer for PvE Dungeons and WvW Roaming.
Try engineer. It is the most difficult profession to master and depending what traits and kits you use, you can make engineer really different from another e.g. you can change your builds with the mere cost of reassigning your traits and equipping different kits as your utility skills. You won’t be bored so fast.
I have used my engineer to solo a lot group events and champion bosses alone. Yes, some of those fights get a while (especially in level 80 areas), but I rarely take that much damage, if I manage to time my dodges well.
I also have a guardian character, but I agree, playing guardian in solo pve is boring. Not difficult, just boring.
